What a gorgeous collection of projects! Well done, Ellie! The Ariana sweater is absolutely the star of the show. Your color sense is amazing - - - no wonder that your yarns are so lovely! Until next week. Vrede en vreugde
What a lovely collection of knitwear! Sounds like the Wool lay retreat is fast becoming a meet up for podcasters! I’m sure you will enjoy your visit and dye some beautiful yarn x
The Ariana blocked out beautifully Ellie .Love your blue and gold colourwork jumper too - well they are all lovely . Jensen is very lucky to have a great new wardrobe to grow into too. I know what you mean about being a few weeks into January before you can catch up and make plans /lists as i feel exactly the same- but thats ok I think . You achieved so many personal knits in 2024 as well as running the business that you should be very pleased . See you soon again x.
Hi Ellie. I'd say you've achieved a great deal in a year especially as you run your own business and have a small child. It was interesting to see the same yarn knit in two different ways; one as a fade and one with stripes. They looked very different from one another. Thanks for the tip re necklines. I'm never certain which cast on to use. There's nothing worse than finishing a jumper and not being able to get it over your head! I was working on the shawl that I'm making with your advent whilst watching. I'm on day 23, so nearly finished. It looks beautiful although I'm not looking forward to sewing in all those ends. 😀
Nice to see all your knits. I'm going to the May Lay Family Wooley Retreat too! Seems like a long time to wait but it will be here before we know it! Thanks for the podcast. Jane
Just wanted to mention that I have heard from a few podcasters about blocking sweaters. If you can get them 'pool noodles' are what they use on the sides and in the sleeves so you don't end with a ridge afterwards.
Hello lovely work, you have inspired me to make the Ariana cardigan. I am sure my make will not look as good as your. Thank you for interesting videos.
Hello Ellie! Beautiful sweaters! I have discovered that if I cast on for a sweater below the neckline rib and then put the neck rib on afterwards, I can gauge how many rounds make the neck so it doesn't slip. If you are worried about how many stitches to cast on, just look at whst the designer tells you to do below the rib, they usually give you a stitch count.
Like you, I prefer a top with less ease and wear them over a simple dress with pockets as a work outfit. Due to my bust size, if I made them larger, I feel as if I’m wearing a smock 😂 All of your makes are beautiful and you are going to enjoy wearing an Ariana around the house if you get around to making one.
Hi Ellie. Great FO’s and going to have a go at the Aflac DK for myself. I have just started trying dress making although I have been so small things and repairs for a long time. I was kindly bought a tailors dummy which includes the attachment for making sure hems are straight. Am struggling at the moment with how to use everything. Could you possibly do a video with Barbara’s assistance of course, on how to use a Taylor’s dummy. Many thanks.

Lovely knits!! So many that are on my list as well. I simply can't believe he is already 3 and growing so fast. ❤
I think you need a navy blue dress to go under the pink jumper. The contrast would be fabulous.

I'm wondering how many colours did you use on your Ariana cardigan? I really like how your squares turned out 🤩 Anne🐑au
